Indiana Scores Well in Science Education Study
Several local media sources are reporting that Indiana is one of only seven states to receive top marks for science education standards this year, and one of only three states to have received top marks twice in a row. The Thomas B. Fordham Foundation grades each state's guidelines for teaching science in public schools periodically. I believe that I can safely say that the Indiana Skeptics are encouraged by this study and want to see this trend continue. Paul R. Gross, the study's main author and a Professor Emeritus of biology at the University of Virginia, is understandably concerned about the possibility of "intelligent design" being introduced into the State's science curricula and notes that it would certainly have a negative effect on Indiana's score.
